Description

About this part

Complete factory ignition lock assembly out of a Hyundai Santa Fe. You get the cast steering lock housing, the ignition lock cylinder with the ring around the barrel, the electrical ignition switch on the back with its connector, plus two keys cut to this cylinder and a Hyundai keyless entry remote. Hyundai cataloged the cylinder assembly for these years as 81920-2BB20 and 81920-2BB21, split by trim grade. Read the key notes below before you order – the keys that come with this are cut to this cylinder, not to your vehicle.

Fits

  • 2007-2012 Hyundai Santa Fe, CM body, turn key ignition

Hyundai ran two cylinder assembly numbers across this generation, 81920-2BB20 and 81920-2BB21, depending on trim grade. They are the same physical assembly family and they mount to the column the same way.

Does not fit

  • 2013 and newer Santa Fe or Santa Fe Sport, which use the 81900-4Z and 81900-2W families
  • 2001-2006 Santa Fe on the older SM body, which uses the 81920-26A cylinders
  • Any push button start vehicle, since there is no lock cylinder to replace

Check this before you order

  1. The keys are cut to this cylinder. They will turn this lock, but they will not open your doors, hatch or glovebox, and your current key will not turn this cylinder. Either you carry two keys, or an automotive locksmith rekeys this cylinder to your existing key, which is a routine bench job.
  2. If your Santa Fe uses a chipped key, the chip has to be matched to your vehicle. A dealer or a locksmith with the right scan tool handles that. Price it out before you buy so there are no surprises.
  3. The remote is not paired to your vehicle. Remotes on this Santa Fe are paired with a scan tool, and the battery in this one has been sitting, so plan on a fresh battery.
  4. Confirm your Santa Fe is a turn key car, not push button start.

Condition

Used, removed from a vehicle. The lock cylinder, the ring around the barrel, the steering lock mechanism and the electrical ignition switch are all still on the housing. The casting has normal shop marks and light surface corrosion, no cracks and no broken mounting ears. The switch connector is intact with no melted or spread pins. The photos are of the exact assembly you will receive, both keys and the remote included.

What is included

  • Ignition lock housing with the steering lock
  • Ignition lock cylinder
  • Electrical ignition switch with its connector
  • Two keys cut to this cylinder
  • One Hyundai keyless entry remote

No column shrouds, no immobilizer control unit, no column wiring beyond the switch itself, and no key or remote programming service.

Why used OEM

The cheap aftermarket lock sets for these are cheap for a reason. The wafers and the plastic cam on the back of a copy wear quickly, and plenty of them need persuading to drop into a factory housing. This is the Hyundai assembly the car was built with, so the mounting ears, the shear bolt bosses and the switch connector all sit exactly where the column expects them.
