Coolant expansion tank, also called the overflow or header tank, off a first generation Mazda3. The number molded into the side of the tank is 3M5H-8K218-BQ with the Ford Motor Co. mark and the >PP< plastic code. That Ford style number is not a mistake. The Mazda3 shares its floorpan with the Ford Focus Mk2, the Ford C-MAX and the Volvo C30, S40, V50 and C70, and the whole family uses a Ford sourced tank. Mazda catalogs the same part as LF8B-15-350.

The pressure cap is included and is stamped 145 kPa / 21 psi. A lot of listings for this tank are the bare bottle, so check what you are comparing it to.

The suffix letters after 3M5H-8K218 change between applications – AH, AJ, BQ, DG and D2L4A are all out there. This one is BQ. If you are buying it for anything other than a first generation Mazda3, go and read the number molded into the tank on your own car and make sure it matches, because we cannot promise a BQ tank drops into every car on that list.
